Street artists
by Martinewezel
They are almost everywhere. At Montmartre we saw this streetmusician with his little streetorgan, at the Notre Dame there was a crossing sweeper disguised in hunchback pricking papers and other garbage and at lots of other locations we saw immobile painted "living" statues.
Nice entertainment for a few cents.

What happens in Champs-Elysees
by Lilasel
From May 17 2003 through June 15 2003, the Champs Elysees was transformed into a rail exhibit honoring 150 years of train travel in France.
The history of French rail on the one side of the avenue and the future of train travel on the other side. (Trains ranging from 1829 steam locomotive to the 2005 "Tram Train Avanto")
River camping sites
by mvtouring
I was highly amused to see that under one of the bridges, this lot decided to open their own camping site. Well covered from the rain and I am sure a lot of wind. Also for a more central camping site you could not ask.
Woolly Jumper
by savageangel
Warning, if you are going to Paris in the winter months, take very thick jumpers, it is freezing!!!!!!!!! Something to do with the Mistral, a vicious wind that blows down through France from Siberia (apparently!)
I'd also take chapstick cos I had hell of a job trying to explain "chapstick" to the shop assistant! Lots of film/memory sticks. It's so beautiful and with so many famous landmarks you'll be snapping the whole time!
