Great location

The hotel is literally a hop, skip and a jump from the neares metro stop - Ecole Militaire. It's within walking distance from Le Tour Eiffel. The hotel front desk would not be considered super friendly, but they will answer your queries and assist with airport transfers. Given that we were in Paris to see Paris and not to stay in a hotel room, the hotel was more than sufficient for our purpose. The room was cleaned daily. We had no complaint.

Other notes: the lift is quite small, and the stairway - narrow and circular. I would not consider bringing a lot of bulky luggage as it will not fit in the lift.

Royal Phare Hotel: A 2-star...

Royal Phare Hotel: A 2-star hotel convenient to the Ecole Militaire metro stop.

Pictured here is the elevator. It's about as big as what you see here. We barely fit both of us and our backpacks in!

About 58 Euros, plus 5 more per person if you want breakfast - but you'll get a better breakfast around the corner.

Unique Quality: This place is just around the corner from the park by the Eiffel Tower. Also, on the next block over, there is a great little street, Rue Clerc, with a produce market, bakeries restaurants, what have you. It's a great place to stroll & pick out a snack or some wine.

Hi

Has anyone stayed at the

Royal Phare Hotel
40 avenue de la Motte Picquet
75007

They have pretty good rates. Is it a good neighborhood?

I have read online that the rooms are 'cramped and unattractive.' It's a fine neighborhood near Rue Cler (nice market), but I think you could probably do better with a hotel choice. See if there's anything on www.tripadvisor.com. People are very free with their opinions on that site. Other good hotels in that same area are Hotel Champs du Mars, Hotel Jardin D'Eiffel etc.

Check out Hotel de L'Avre. Stayed there last year, and the reviews on tripadvisor are right.. great place. It's right off Blvd La Motte Piquet, 5 minute walk to Rue Cler. Good rates too.

Hope this helps,

Have a look at the Hotel Saint Dominique, a really charming 2 star hotel in the 7th. It has been renovated for not a long time, everything is very clean and nice.
I really enjoyed staing there!
