Sorry, I don't have a favorite...
Sorry, I don't have a favorite because we were only there for two nights! We stopped in Beaune, France, for lunch the first day, and that evening we ate in a small restaurant (probably geared towards large, organized tours like ours); something about Montagne. It was near the Pantheon. The next night we ate near our hotel: the Villa Modigliani on Rue Delambre. We walked 'round the corner and up the street to Leon de Bruxelles. A small communication problem, but all I had was a sorbet so it was okay (my mom and dad got mussels and pasta, respectively, and the prices were decent). I am sure you can get better cuisine, though prices cannot compare. There are lots of little patisseries and cafes with outdoor and indoor seating, and most probably have tasty selections. What you may consider trying is a Crepe Cafe; we passed by and it looked delicious. The place was full, so we decided to pass by. I will definitely try it when I return to Paris (hopefully sometime soon!).
The Leon de Bruxelles extends a bit into the sidewalk (as a lot of the restaurants do) but does not have an outdoor cafe. This extension has lots of glass, so it's like a glass-covered porch. It was fun to watch the cultural activity walking past us, but if you don't like to have people going by while you are eating, I suggest you find a nice diner elsewhere (however, most restaurants have either these glass-enclosed porches or outdoor tables). Any desserts. I have a sweet tooth, and France is my country for desserts!
