I stayed at the young and happy hostel.
Young & Happy Hostel is located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, worldwide known for its student life in the numerous cafés,bars & restaurants, parks and galeries. it is very centrally located which means that the major tourist attractions are not far away: Notre dame Cathedral is at a 10 minutes' walk from the hostel. I would recommend it to backpapers because of its nearby supermarkets, bakeries, laundromat, post office and one of the most attractive old open markets.
From place Monge métro stop (5 minutes from the hostel), you are at only short rides to fte beautiful sights in Paris : Eiffel Tower, Louvre museum, Arc de Triumphe, the Champs Elysées, the Sacré-coeur. It is a chearful place - the main entrance is also a bar. It has it's own kitchen where you can make dinner. breakfast is included in the price.

I suggest :
Young & Happy
80 rue Mouffetard
5° arrondissement
It is located near the Quartier Latin, in a very typical street with a market and several street musicians. There are a lot of restaurants nearby.
Or
Auberge de jeunesse
10 rue Trousseau
11° arrondissement
Near the Place de la Bastille. Not far from (by metro) the Pere Lachaise Cemetary where there is the Jim Morisson's grave
or
D'artagnan
80 rue Vitruve
20° arrondissement.
I guess it is the one advised by the previous message because the hostel is near the Pere Lachaise cemetary. Only concern : there is no attraction nearby.
or
The 3 ducks
6 place Etienne Pernet
15° arrondissement
Interessant because it is near to the Tour Eiffel.

if your looking to have a good time while your there and on a tight budget try the 3 ducks or peace and love, although the latter isnt in the best part of town.
