Young-Ming Mt.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Living in the city is kinda cool coz you can always get around easier and there are more shops around. But I think most people wouldn't mind a little trip away from the centre. Youn-Ming Mt. is one of the great spot to visit. It's not too far away from the city so you can get there easily. It was a nice day when we went up there with a couple of our friends. It still looked a bit foggy. But imagine that was the first day we saw the sun after three weeks of bad weather. We didn't make it to the top cause I was too lazy to walk longer.

  • Tip Rating:
  • If you are interested in gardening you definitely don't wanna miss this place. You can find all kinds of flowers, plants and garden supplies. For people who like Orchids you can even get one pot for only $50NT. We went there recently coz we are into the herbs lately. Found some nice Rosemary, Peppermint, Sweet Basil, Parsley, Sage, Thyme, and Lemon Balm seeds. =)

In June, in response to suggestions from all sectors, the funeral committee members decided to build the CKS Memorial Hall in Taipei, in order to commemorate the memory of our great leader.

    The Financial Building 101
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Taipei 101 Financial Building being open to public on 2004. This is a new landmark of Taipei situated in the center of Taipei City. Quite a nice building architecture that stand more than 450m from sea level and being the highest building in the world from now.

    *Nightmarket
  • Tip Rating:
  • For tourists who enjoy shopping and munching on savory Taiwanese snacks, night markets are a good choice. Markets offer fun, shopping, and a lot of local color, and generally sell a variety of products, casual clothes, fruit, snacks, and novelty items. Night markets with the best bargains in food, fashions, and curios in the Taipei area include the Shihlin night market, north of the Grand Hotel; the Kungkuan night market, near National Taiwan University; the Shihta night market, on Shih Ta Road off Hoping East Road; Hua Hsi Street night market, also known as Snake Alley; Tung Hua Street night market, near the World Trade Center; Jao Ho Street night market, in the Sungshan district; and Chingkuang market, off Chung Shan North Road.

Its comes to life after 7pm where street vendors displays their wares on the road and is easy for the picking. A brolly will be handy if it rains though. Note: Most of the items start off at NTD 390.

    *Yangmingshan National Park
  • Tip Rating:
  • Directly north of Taipei is Yangmingshan National Park, where visitors can find waterfalls, volcanic craters, lakes, steaming hot springs, and in the springtime, cherry and azalea blossoms. Well-maintained walkways and trails lead to the park's main scenic spots, which offer picnic and recreation areas.

    Jio Fen
  • Tip Rating:
  • Jio Fen if dierect tanslation to Chinese means nine portions. Long ago, there were only nine families lived there. With the discovery of gold, it had become a tiny properous town, some called it little Shanghai. It's close to Gin Gua Shi but the minery belonged to different men. Now this town is a tourism sopt. During holidays, it is veery crowded. You may also find some old atomosphere here. Here, you must not forget to take taro ball.( Yu-Yuan ) which is my favorite, and Cai-A-Guei. Spend a night here and talk to the locals, I believe they know a lot about history and stories, what's more, they are really friendly and willing to talk to their visitors.
