Siam is one of the major street in Brest and it is very intresting to see shops and people window shoping. Some portion of this street is completely closed to traffic, except the Bus, so it is a pleasure just walking and absorbing the beauty of the town.

There are some good bars and most local places have live musicians on the main squares or live theatre. It's so nice! For example at Piriac-sur-Mer is live theater at the square next to the church every summer evening. Go and see it!

I think the city was built around pubs! You can find a bars anywhere , mainly pubs but all with different atmosphere. Won't give you adress you will find them (or get drunk before!)
Theses are mine:
HAVANA (downstreet Siam)..name say it all.
BLIND PIPER (nice atmosphere, but really crowded on week end)
TARA INN (on the dock or rock ! let you see)
TETES RAIDES (live music) , well knowned groups started here.
Brest still has this celtic touch ........come before it's too late!

Don't have to take your car to find discos. The 'bretois' are having fun every week end , sorry..... every day in all famous city disco.
Get fever at LE CESAR but teens are not older than the music there.
LA SOUTE bring (bad) sound to older (30-40) people there, everybody look at each other , you definitly don't come here for music!!
Le STENDHALE, not the biggest one but I like it. Young downstairs and older (from 25, ho honkey!!!!! I am old now?

This particular restaurant is very popular with the locals, as you have to sometimes book in advance. The sea food here is very rich and affordable?
