This is nice clear park with lots of benches, fountains a pier and green grass along the waterfront. 1 fountain the kids can play in and the other is for looking. Lots of shade and benches to eat your lunch, hang out and watch the boats go by. Lots of do's and don't's on the sign as you enter the park so you may want to read them. Leave a Comment

Waterfront Park is great for kids during the daytime, and great for couples at night. There is a large pineapple fountain, and also a water fountain for children to play in. There are also swings, benches, and plenty of places for picnics. Leave a Comment Address: downtown Charleston, Concord Street

The original site for the city is located at Charlestowne Landing. This park offers beautiful gardens, bicycle trails, and an animal park. There are also a lot of places for picnics. It's great for kids, because there is a recreated village and boat to explore. Leave a Comment Address: West AshleyDirections: SC 171, 1500 Old Towne Rd.

Charleston County has three waterparks!!! (James Island County Park, Palmetto Islands County Park, and Wannamaker Park all have waterparks.) These parks are big and a lot of fun, with waterslides and lazy rivers everywhere!!! Also, check out the rest of the Charleston County Parks for activities like fishing, walking and biking trails, and picnic shelters. James Island County Park has a Holiday Festival of Lights, and there are a lot of beach parks too. Leave a Comment

Waterfront Park is a 12-acre park which serves as a transition between at the intesection of the city's residential, business, and historic districts. Located along the salt-water marshes of the Cooper River, it includes a 400-foot-long wharf and fishing pier with shade structures, riverside promenade, lawns and formal gardens, tree-shaded walking and sitting areas, and two major fountains. The park is especially popular in the heat of summer when local kids like to play in the big squirt fountain. At night it's a romantic place to sit with your honey, though competition for the waterfront swings is intense and you may have to wait, or chose a bench instead. Leave a Comment

This park sits at the end of Queen street on the harbor. It features a pineapple fountain statute that is the symbol of Charleston and a fishing pier. Leave a Comment Address: Queen & Concord Streets

Charleston Waterfront Park is a great place to start a walk. Start off walking down to the end of the pier. We saw a dolphin in the water just a few yards from the pier! On your way, you can also enjoy swinging on one of the "porch swings" with your companion. Then continue along the Cooper River to the historic residential district. Leave a Comment

Here's a photo on one of the swings on the pier in the Waterfron Park! Leave a Comment

The pier has a set of swings that are great just to sit down and relax on for a bit (there is a better picture on the main page). Also, at the beginning of the pier is a very informative display on the history of Charleston. Leave a Comment
