Good budget hotel - excellent location

    by

Hotels in the far eastern part of Asia are usually cheap to get. However, if you are that tight on money that you can't afford them, there are few better options in KL than the Classic Inn. This Chinese-run place offers affordable accommodation (single/double/dorm) for fair prices and is conveniently located: Times Square Shopping Mall is just across the street, the Bukit Bintang district with bars and restaurants just a few steps away and public transport (Imbi Monorail station) next to the mall.
The staff is very friendly, consisting of young Chinese people who do the best to help you out. There are a couple of computers available in the hotel lobby with internet connection. Officially, they charge for use, but usually they will let you use them for free (with exception of extra services like printing). If you want to do a day trip, need further travelling info or just require a phone card, these friendly girls and guys are always willing to help you! Breakfast is included and consists of coffee, fruits and a warm dish (usually roti channai, but I even had spaghetti bolognese). Sometimes, toast or some other little treat is served in addition. Rooms are fitted out with air conditioning and are en-suite. The mechanism to run the shower may look a little complicated, however, people who have stayed in British B&Bs might be familiar with that.
Although hotel offers are only slightly more expensive in the eyes of some western tourists, it was this place I liked a lot. Not only because of its location, but also because of the friendly atmosphere. Event though it was nothing more than a better youth hostel, their friendliness was genuine and that made me like being at home for the time staying in Malaysia. Thank you all for ten lovely days!

Directions: Just behind Times Square Shopping Mall in a street with traditional buildings. Take the Monorail to Imbi and walk through or around shopping mall and you'll soon see the big sign.

At the Center on a Budget

    by

I stayed at Classic Inn for only a single night booking a dormitory bed through the internet. However, although they require you a credit card, the charges are not deducted from it upon reservation but rather, upon your arrival. You also have the option to pay in cash. Aside from the bill, a deposit is required which is returned to you after check-out. I like the very dainty white sheets and blankets that they provide. It gives an immaculately clean appearance and very inviting to sleep. The boutique salon has a very appealing ambience and a wide TV set is installed at the covered terrace area which has a good atmosphere for interaction with the other guests and coffee sessions. Breakfast is served as early as 6 am with a choice of either a Roti dish or a fruit platter. This may not be the cheapest dormitory bed, but all in all, it is one of my best choice on value for money accommodation. The only downturn to this hotel is the adequacy of the space in the dormitory area to conveniently move within your bed enclave.

Unique Quality: Classic Inn is right behind Berjaya Time Square Mall, the biggest shopping Mall in KL. Hence, all your shopping and utility needs is just a stone's throw away. It's easy to find and fairly accessible to almost any part of the City. It has a peaceful neighborhood, and on top of it all, it's very clean.

Directions: Right across the road behind Berjaya Times Square Mall in downtown Kuala Lumpur.
