Convenient Location but with minor set backs
by TripAdvisor Member The_TravellerSg
Good location as it is just across from KLCC which makes it very convenient for the business traveller and if you are coming from Singapore by coach, one of the dropoff point is at Renaissance Hotel hence making it extremely convenient.
Rooms are well maintained and clean but the internet connection which is free is slow during the period I was there making it a chore when doing work. The breakfast is superb and provides good choices.
The pool is great as it provides good view of the twin towers and the spa is a great place to relax in. The service by the staff is prompt and efficient, will definitely stay again if they improved on the internet access. Even working in the business centre is slow as well.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights at the end of November.
We had a good deal through Asia Rooms although the hotel is mainly for business people (Its only a 10 minute walk to the KLCC and twin towers) We as tourists were really well looked after.
Like many of the previous reviewers we found the staff to be switched on and helpful. (checking in and out was easy)
Two of our of our best memories were the view of the Twin Towers from the pool and our evening happy hour drink in the bar .
If we visit KL we will certainly stay at the Impiana
Fantastic KLCC view, lousy front desk attitude

We watched the KLCC new year fireworks from our room on the 12th floor - and it was indeed a first class view. You can't fault the location - only 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from Suria KLCC, across the road from KLCC Convention Centre and Mandarin Oriental.
However, check-in was a rather unpleasant affair. We arrived at 5pm and was told our room was not yet ready and we had to wait an hour for it. The front desk check-in officer was unapologetic and told us to "just wait". She offered us no free drinks. Half an hour later, one of the staff went around with a tray of drinks but she pointedly refused to look at us and only served it to Caucasians (I particularly hate it when Asians pointedly look down on fellow Asians).
We went and pestered again for our room, the same girl again told us to wait "an hour" and we told her we'd waited 30 mins, before she revised and said the room will be ready by the time one hour is up. We had to ASK her if we could be served drinks while waiting. The serving girl reluctantly came to us with a tray but I noted that she did not smile nor nod. It is obvious that the hotel officers require classes in manners and hospitality. We finally checked in at 6pm.
It is unbelievable that such an expensive hotel actually requires its guests to wait till 6pm for check-in. We were not the only waiting guests, there were plenty in the lobby hanging around. There must be something wrong with the hotel management if check-out time is by noon but the room can only be ready 6 hours later.
On the other hand, the room is very clean and new. The beds are comfy (we were provided with 5 head pillows and could take our pick for an additional special pillow from the pillow menu). The room has solid timber flooring, which is very nice and clean compared to the usual dark carpeting in most hotels. There are also large drawers below the TV cabinet that allows you to stow all kinds of things, and a lighted wardrobe. Shower pressure was okay, not too weak. There was also cable TV with all the usual channels - HBO, CNN, ESPN, etc. They provided us with a complimentary fruit platter and a copy of weekly business paper The Edge as well as the next morning copy of New Straits Times. I have to mention, though, that the housekeeping department is rather efficient in handling our requests for extra blankets and pillows - they arrive promptly within 5 minutes of your request. We really couldn't fault the room at all.
All-in, if not for the unpleasant front desk episode, the hotel is a pretty good one.
Good hotel; but has its faults

The hotel itself was fine; and the staff excellent, always very helpful. Our only complaint was the room. We had a list of problems with the room and room service; all small problems but still irritating. Problems such as the bathroom sink plug mechanism did not work, the kettle lid was broken, the TV remote didn't work, we didn't have any hand towels one day, and there was only one bath robe. We arrived at about 11.00pm and could not get a sandwich; even though there is suppose to be 24 hour room service. The room itself was tired with furniture fittings that would have been nice in the 1970's; but it was kept clean; which is more important than the decor.
But all in all we had a good stay and the location can not be beaten.
