 | Kuala Lumpur Mutiara Hotel Kuala Lumpur Reviews | 1 - 6 of 6 | |
Apparantly the Mutiara is recently open after a year long renovation. The place looks and feels brand new. While not perfect, due to some minor issues, overall the hotel is an excellent choice for both business and leisure purposes. As a frequent business traveler, I would welcome the opportunity to stay here during a long trip. For this trip, I was here for leisure I can say that I've attained the rest/relaxation I was looking seeking.
The lobby is quite spacious and open. Elegant without being overpowering. The front door staff are efficient and considerate. I arrived without having local currency and they paid the taxi driver without mentioning it to me. I would rate the room and the breakfast as the best features. The bathroom is huge with a separate shower and bathtub built for two. The bathroom has sliding doors that allow it to open up into the room giving it a spacious feeling. The rooms have a bay window with a chaise lounge in front - this makes for a nice seating area. The room also has a small hallway, which gives it a bigger feel. The breakfast buffet is varied and large. There is a wide variety of foods representing breakfast tastes from all over the world. Even as a buffet, the quality is good and there are made to order dishes as well. Seating is quick and efficient. Downsides: Minor but evident. The shower stall leaks, so be prepared for slippery marble floors. The room feels a bit cramped due to the layout of the furniture. While the furniture is nice - there is a bit too much for the size of room. About 10 minutes by foot from the Petronas towers. Also, 10 minutes from Bukit Bintang market. Both estimates are by foot.

by angela81 The Mutiara KL used to be KL Hilton, and since the new management took over, the hotel has seen many new, positive changes. Rooms are newly refurbished, and lovely new bathrooms. A nice change if you choose to stay in a simpler hotel ( I brough my American friends here) with 5 star service. Cheap rooms and great food. Staff is friendly but still reserved. Just next to Raja Chulan LRT station!
Great view of the twin towers, esp in the everning when they switch the lights on. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averagePhone: 60 321482322

For info, the formerly KL Mutiara Hotel is now known as Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel. I stayed in a Grand Deluxe room with side view of the Petronas Twin Towers. OK, about the room. It was fabulous! I loved the timber-strip floor, the bed design, sofa set and the overall spaciousness of the Grand Deluxe room. And yes, the rainshower was just heavenly! Thumbs up for the room. The lobby lounge was quite nice too, with modern and chic furnishing. The food was average though (Planter's Restaurant). The swimming pool was OK, but the view of the city especially at night was amazing! Overall, this is a very good hotel to stay. Don't get fooled by the old exteriors.
Grand Deluxe Room, pool view of the city.
