KL's coolest hostel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 11, 2005

I ended up staying here a lot longer than I'd intended. The price (30 ringits I believe) was reasonable, and the staff were very friendly from the word go. The rooms are certainly not those you would expect to see in a hilton, but if you can live with a few creepy crawlies (very small ones) then they are very reasonable for the price.
The real draw of this hostel is it's friendly atmosphere and social openess. The large common area serves drinks and food, and there are two large televisions with DVD players and a pool table. You can rent a DVD from them for just 2 ringit.

Unique Quality: The building in which the hostel is situated quadruples up as a 7/11, an internet cafe, and a snooker hall!
The location is also great, and in walking distance of everything you need to see!

Directions: opposite puduraya station

Great, Friendly Hostel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 31, 2005

I went to KL by bus, departing from Singapore. So I arrived at the place where all the busses stop in KL, called PUDU RAYA ( or something like that ;) )

Anyway, just ask any teksi driver for the busstop area and he will take you there, it's very well known.

Opposite the main entrance of the bus-stop building ( yes, it's a whole building ) is the PUDU hostel located. It's a 5 storey building, hosting a snooker centre, internet cafe and the hostel with it's 3 floors.

It's located next to the 7/11 supermarket, which is located on the corner, you can't miss it. ( check out the directions for more info )

The hostel has a very nice lobby with a BIG vcd screen, sofa's, cold beer, nice kitchen and a very friendly, very well English speaking host.

The rooms are small, have no windows and you might find them a little bit dirty, but's since you only pay around 15-20 ringgit for a double room, it's definitely worth it! You can decide joining others on their room to make it even less expensive.

The beds are a little hard, but since I was very tired, I didn't find it much of a problem ;)

Unique Quality: - Very nice lobby
- Friendly, English speaking host
- Big VCD screen
- Good Kitchen for breakfast & dinner
- Cold Beer
- Cheap!
- Internet Cafe on 1st floor
- Snooker centre on 2nd floor
- Clean, shared bathrooms and toilets

Directions: Okay from that busstop, look for the first 7/11 supermarket you see. It's located on a corner.

facing the main entrance of this place, turn right. After 5 mtrs you will find the main entrance of the PUDU hostel on your left.
