  • Despite its title this hotel seemed a little out of the way of the things we wanted to see and do.
The accommodation was very comfortable and the hotel staff were good. Food was a little expensive and it appeared to cater mostly for the business traveller rather than the tourist.

We were awoken very early by noise from the street below and the nearby railway line.

  • This is a pleasant hotel situated to the North of the main tourist area. The hotel is aimed at the business traveller rather than the tourist.
Our room was adequate and had a view of the local railway and street. It was quite noisy despite being very high up.
Food and beverages were average in quality and price. We found it a little far out for tourists as we had to travel quite large distances to the main sights.

Great views of the Petronas Towers from the glass lift.

Quality Hotel City Centre: The "poor" quality hotel    Check Rates

  • The hotel looked nice from the outside and our luggage was taken straight away which impressed me. As soon as we walked in I was not overly impressed-it had a horrid, musty smell and we planned straight away not to eat there. We just hoped our room was nicer, being a 4 star hotel and being recommended by our trusty travel agents. We checked in by the rude receptionist and were given a room on the 13th floor, room 1314. This was a “deluxe” room and was an upgrade for our honeymoon- I can tell you that I have seen better hostels and have never stayed in such an awful place. As we entered the lift the strange smell hit us and I had to cover my nose as it made me feel nauseous. As we walked down the corridor to our room I could not stand the smell-a mixture of damp, dirty carpets and vomit. We just hoped our room was better-like the website and Thomas Cook brochure we’d seen. My heart sank as we walked into our room. It was dirty and smelt. You could hardly see out of the window, which would not open, as it was covered in grime. The curtains were grey and stained. The bathroom was awful and the bath was dirty. There was a huge reddish stain on the carpet and grime around the edge of the floor. The musty smell continued into the room. The safe did not work and the fridge was warm. We complained at reception about the uncleanness & requested a change but due to their poor English they did not understand us! As we had been given a welcome pack and told that a Thomas Cook Rep would meet us at 17:30 (see copy enclosed marked D) we decided to speak to him about it. We waited until 18:15 and he had not yet shown so we called the number provided-it went straight to a voice message saying he was unavailable. We waited another 15 minutes then gave up. By this point we were not surprised at the no show of the Thomas Cook Rep although disappointed and frustrated, as we now had to try to arrange the trips ourselves & put up with this awful hotel. We felt so let down with the hotel and a how one of the biggest, if not the biggest, travel agencies can possibly recommend such awful accommodation to their customers. We asked again for a different room but were told that was not possible. As we were unable to change rooms or hotels we had to try to make the best of it. After one night in the hotel I developed an illness and was constantly vomiting for over 24 hours. We couldn’t explain why I was so ill but after looking back it was probably due to the unhygienic conditions of the hotel. The corridors alone were so full of dirt and hair around the edges that the carpets were beginning to rot. Since returning we have looked on trip advisor and I suggest you do the same. People have complained of exactly the same poor conditions and even bed bugs! It is totally unacceptable. I have emailed a complaint to the hotel manager also. We have enclosed photographic evidence of the extremely poor conditions that we had to endure. We didn’t shower there as it was cleaner and more hygienic not to.

I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone-its a dive
