Fantastic place to stay

This is really great place to stay, I almost dont' want to review it to keep it a secret!! I stayed in the 6 bed dorm for 3 nights, it has a nice location with a few restaurants on the street but the road behind is full of great places to eat cheaply. You can walk to chinatown in approx 20mins, Bukit Bintan is about 5-10mins walk with several shopping malls in that area.

The room its self was really clean and the beds were comfortable, the a/c is only on from 6pm-8am but the room had a fan so it was fine. There are 2 bathrooms one with a cold shower and one with a hot shower though I didnt really have to que for either too long. There are several computers in the living area and internet access is very reasonable, there is a big tv and hundereds of dvd's which you can watch when ever you like. No alcohol is allowed in the hostel but that wasn't really a problem, it just means its not a party hostel which is great.

If you are travelling solo its a great place to meet other travellers as its very sociable, this perhaps is due to the fact its fairly small.
The staff are all SO helpful and really cannot do enough for you.

I want to return to KL just so I can stay here again!!

Unique Quality: Such a friendly atmostphere

Just a short walk away from shopping and food!

The hostel is housed in a 2-storey small shophouse along a nice street lined with restaurants and shops. Because of its size, it can only accomodate a total of 12 guests at any one time. We paid RM65 for a twin room.

Guest rooms are upstairs, while the common area (for watching tv, surfing the net etc) is downstairs in the living room, which adjoins the kitchen and laundry area. Guests are charged for using laundry and internet facilities. The bathroom facility is shared.

Light sleepers may wish to use earplugs as the guest rooms do not have actual ceilings. Conversations conducted in the room can be heard from the outside corridor and vice versa. The sound of people coming and going in the middle of the night is also unavoidable.

Red Palm is conveniently located in the Bukit Bintang area, just a 5 minute walk away from the Bukit Bintang shopping strip and a 2 minute walk away from popular night food street, Jalan Alor.

If you need directions to anywhere, or any help at all, just ask the friendly and knowledgable people running the place.

Unique Quality: - Air-conditioned (during the night) with fan (for the day)
- Shared bathroom with hot shower
- Clean bedlinen provided
- Internet access & laundry service
- Free water, coffee, tea, fruits and toast in the kitchen, with use of utensils
- Private twin rooms or single bunk beds (shared room) available

Nicest guesthouse of my whole trip !

It's the first time in my life that I have dinner with the owners of the guesthouse I stay in.
That makes all the difference !

And it's clean, quiet, AC in the corridors so that your room stays fresh enough.

All the amenities, PCs, washing machine, DVDs all day round, and breakfast is included

There's only one shower, though, but you don't wait much.

Unique Quality: Them !
And us, by the way... If you're cool you'll feel just like home :)

This place has a much better value than a 4 star hotel. Because human friendliness, exchanges, smiles, are more important than a dryer in your bathroom. So, even when I'm billionaire I will continue to go there !

cosy Hostel in Kuala Lumpur

Red Palm is a small and cosy hostel that opened in October 2004. It has capacity for 12 people. It is located in Bukit Bintang on Tengkat Tong Shin which is the paralell street to Jalan Alor, the hawker food paradise.

Unique Quality: Red Palm is run by very friendly malay people. At the end of your stay you will say good bye to good friends and to a home away from home. The hostel has a large area to relax, watch movies and meet other travellers. There is high-speed internet for RM 3 per hour . There is also laundry service. Breakfast is included.
