LCCT International transit

by tabron

This will be our first time flying into LCCT via Air Asia. After baggage claim do we have to go thru immigration and re-check our bags for the next international flight ( a few hours later ) or do they have check in counters within arrivals so we don't have to go thru immigration?
Thanks

Air Asia is a point to point airline which means you will have to go through immigration and then collect your bags, through customs and then to the check-in for your next flight.

And be ware that emmigration lines can be long in Kuala Lumpur airport and you should go through right away to make sure you get your connection.
It can easily take you an hour to make it thrugh the emmigration line there.
But apart from that it´s a very pleasant airport to wait for a couple of hours.

This is true that Air Asia is a point to point carrier as noted above. however, more recently the airlines has started offering transit facilities for specific routes. But then you buy one ticket rather than two. So check before buying your tickets if your route fits their transit destination. In this case you may avoid the hassle...

LCCT is crowded as a bus station but never have I waited more than fifteen minutes to clear Immigration and Customs. when you come out, go to the area for checking in, and in general the check in process is also fairly quick. have your itinerary all printed up and make sure you have already paid for your meals or extra weight or seat assignment and then it is pretty quick..
Air Asia is a very efficient airline, even though it is low cost.

Thankyou for all the replies. Just so used to flying into KLIA and not quite sure about the LCCT.

Tropical Fruit called Rambutan

by freddie18

Rambutan is a tropical fruit and obviously can be available in any Asian country. Malaysia is not an exception as I found them in the local market and ate all of them with gusto.

Rambutan is known as Hairy Fruit in the local language. It is green in colour and becomes red when ripe. It taste sweet and a little bit sour. See the photos of the fruit I took inside my hotel room. Try it. I am sure you will like it.

I guess there is no need to tell you how much it cost. It is inexpensive compared to any other currency.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign!

by robertgaz

On my walking travels wandering around the busy streets of KL, I chanced upon some signs that tickled me pink.

These signs had mixed meanings in my mischievous mind and the last pic really did make me laugh a lot ;~)

When my time has come to pass;
I'll rest beneath the long green grass.
And what I'd like to be put in;
Is in a fine Fook Hin coffin!

photograph the beautiful Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This is definitely one of Kuala Lumpur's most famous landmark and it certainly bears great testimony to its intricate Moorish design and architecture.

Malaysian-English

by Rinjani

This is one of the most facinating experiences during the visit to Malaysia. As Bahasa native speaker (which has similarity with Malay Language), we understand each other when we speak in Malay. Although after several times misscommunication with our Malaysian friends (some of similar words turn to be different meaning), we decided to speak in English.
Most of Malaysian speak excellent English, but I do love the dialect and the way “Malay” additional component add up into English. For example “ You arrange lah” and many other Malay-English mixing. It’s really interesting for me.
