Re: where in kuala lumpur can I buy NAUTICA & other brand men's polo that are export excesses

by albertgarcia

Hi helpful friend,

Thank you for referring me to FOS, REJECT SHOPS, GME FACTORY OUTLET MALL for export excesses. I will be staying in Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I want to know how much is the taxi fare from Mandarin Oriental to the three outlets you mentioned.

Appreciate all your assistance.

Best,
Albert

From your hotel, walk to the nearest lrt station, which is not far. Take the lrt to KL Sentral. in KL Sentral, you can find GME Factory Outlet. Shops There.

In KL Sentral, take KTM Kommuter to Midvalley. In Midvalley Megamall, you can shop at both FOS and Reject Shop. You can also use taxi, the journey take less than 10 minutes.

Thats the easiest way to shop from your hotel. But that's not the only place that have both FOS and Reject Shop in one shopping mall.

Good Luck!

LanguageS in KL

by backpackerbaby

KL is a city of mixed culture. Before my arrival, I heard that most people can speak Malay, Mandarin and Fu Zin Language. After my arrival, I found that most Malaysians speak fluent English. Moreover, lots of Chinese live in KL. I could always hear people talking in Cantonese, although with strange/funny accents. At some places like when eating out, I even used Cantonese to communicate with the locals. The feeling was so funny. Locals look cool but once you smile to them, they will immediately give you some welcoming warm smiles. Lovely!

shopping, lcct, mapdoo, lrt, monorail

by amangoo

hi there judi.. i'm a malaysian hence i gotta help :)

there's no train service from the airport from LCCT, you could catch a bus, 9MYR, to KL Sentral and then a taxi, bus or train to city center... i would somehow recommend u to take aiport taxi directly from LCCT which costs around RM100 to city center.

Concorde Hotel is a decent one and the main thing is it is well located at the heart of the city. Famous pubs/bars are all within walking distance.

Dress Advice while in KL

by therealsupa

Although your not likely to be arrested for not wearing correct attire, sometimes its just a really nice sign of respect for Muslim religion to cover up a bit.

I recommend just a t-shirt and jeans/cargo's.

Some restaurants, temples etc will not let you in wearing singlets or shorts - so be prepared.

I found that i just felt more comfortable walking around wearing a tshirt and cargos - most of the women can sometimes be covered from head to toe! So this is just a helpful hint so your stay in KL is a little easier.
