31 Reviews we visited sharm el sheikh as friends of ours advised us too do so, they told us whatever we do we must go on the red sea cruise excursion the full day trip. it wasn't the kind of day out i thought my children and myself would enjoy, as my husband loves the sea i knew he would have a great time but...
42 Reviews Whilst we stayed in Sharm we booked all of are excursions through Jasmine Tours the service was great and all the excursions were very well organised. We did Cairo by plane we paid 120 sterling for everything was included and Ahly are guide was great he really looked after us. We also booked Tiran...
29 Reviews The national park is, officially, the best place to see the reefs, but... will it really be? Flocks of tourists interact each day with the reef, causing erosion and and damaging the natural balance. They try to relief the pressure, finding other spots, and spreading people. We did, visit a couple of...
25 Reviews We had the choice of an early morning ride out or an evening one. They do it at these times so you can see the sun rise or set as its pretty nice in Egypts sky. We picked the evening one due to i carn't get up very well in a morning. We got picked up at around 4pm by bus and took to the quad bike...
15 Reviews Most of the hotels and motels in Hadaba area have no beaches It only 5 minutes walking from famous il Mercato promenade and Alf Lial Wa Lila show land Reef Beach is a located in the reef of UM el SID Hill you can have sunbeds on the sandy floor and you take the stairs to enter the reef/sea. You...
17 Reviews This was my second time in Sharm-el-Sheikh, and also the second visit to St. Katherine. In the first one, I wrote a tip in Egypt page, now I got a different impression. In the first visit I went there expressly, using a taxi - this time it was a stop in the desert safari. Better idea! Paying the...
34 Reviews Oonas diving is quite good and in the neighborhood of the center. http://www.oonasdiveclub.com/en/component/content/article/165 End of Summer Sale: For only 325 euros you will get: - 7 nights hotel accommodation based on 2 in a twin room - Breakfast included - 5 days boat diving (2 dives per day,...
15 Reviews We decided to take a glass bottom boat trip because I had never done one before. We booked it at the sister hotel to ours (i think it was Albatros something, ours was the Aqua Blu) as they offered better prices than our hotel but I think you can do trips like this from many places around...
6 Reviews I enjoyed the visit to the "old market" though clearly understanding that "old" means not so new as the rest. The ambiance gets closer to what we should expect in that area of the world, and commerce more diverse. The kitsch use of a natural hill deeply transformed helps to enhance that ambiance,...
3 Reviews Nabq Bay is the modern version of Sharm El Sheikh; it is located to the north of Sharm El Sheikh old town, quitter place with better architecture, it contains around 60 hotels most of them huge 4 or 5 stars with long beaches in the bay under major hotel chains coming from all over the world ...
8 Reviews It started off with a 1 hour camel ride in the desert mountains. Don't worry there is a break after about 30 minutes. I will say the camel ride part was a bit uncomfortable but worth the experience. The we sat around a camp fire and talked. Our tour guide told us all we wanted to know about the...
5 Reviews Moses Mountain again is a very popular attraction in Sharm. It is not for the faint hearted though as it is a long day. I know someone who did this tour and although they said it was fantastic, they said it was very tiring and also worth it for the amazing view. It lasts around 3-4 hours where you...
3 Reviews This is the view looking over sharkes Bay, we got a taxi to take us there and back for approx £8.00 the journey was probobly 30-40mins each way. There are a few restaurants on the beach front and of course the coral reef which John tells me was very good. I was more intrested in the camels on the...
5 Reviews This trip to Tiran island has one and just one purpose - snorkel. We visited three different spots, all with different characteristics. We were a large group, and we really had fun, in a new, clean and well maintained boat, where even the lunch... was good. Bargain! With a list price of 25£, we...
5 Reviews If it was the objective of our trip, I would classify it as a tourist trap. Being a complement, it was... fun. The canyon is tiny, and colours... well, with imagination and good will... It is not a thing to see - it is a radical experience. Going up and down the rocks was a challenge, easy to most...
5 Reviews I will give anything a go when on holiday and in Egypt a camel ride seems to be the norm. I went on the ride near the blue hole but i got offered a go where ever you go. I didn't cost alot at all really and i went right down the edge of a beach and sea. It wasn't the best ride ever i had done. The...
7 Reviews A sure shot of smoothing your nerves after a Hard Day of Swimming and other Activites...Have a Nice Hookah( water pipe) in different flavours and watch the Whole Sharm walk around....Also you get to see a EGYPTIAN NOMADIC JIGGY done mostly by the Entertainers of the cafe...!! Make sure you dnt miss...
4 Reviews Sinai looks like nothing so much as the surface of the moon. The Sinai Peninsula consists of an area of some 61,000 square kilometers. Geographical Sinai belongs to Egypt cut from its motherland by the Suez Canal. The natural barriers are the Gulf of Suez to the west, separating the African continent...

Word these days seems to be for Westerners to stick to the resorts and not stray towards Northern Sinai. Anybody around have any on the ground observations?
Tourists looking for a relaxing beach holiday tend to stay in Sharm El Sheikh, everything is there that you need. Plenty of restaurants, bars, hotels, beaches, trip opportunities. Hurghada is slightly cooler regarding temperature and is also becoming popular. Day trips can be arranged to Cairo, Luxor and other historic or tourist places. I wouldn't recommend going to other places in Egypt for an actual holiday - stick to Sharm as it is meant to be the best holiday resort in the world and I'd agree. But don't hesitate to take day trips to other places in Egypt as it is such a beautiful country.
Giampiero and Ylil , you are both right sharm is safe peaceful , its now full of tourists , day trip is not bad to any where in Egypt , but is you said giampiero you have to stay away from northern Sinai at the moment
