MadamKwan'sNamecard by xuessium Came highly recommended for offering true Malaysian cuisines. It seems Madam Kwan is quite a celebrity on the local celebrity cook scene judging by the number of newspaper and magazines clippings. I was at the branch in Mid Valley Megamall. The restaurant has an upmarket look but without trying to be too pretentious, walking a fine line between Asian and Western style decor. The waitresses and waiters are all smartly dressed and guests are served with glasses of strawberry scented cold water. The service was great and warm though the dishes were a little on the small side. It helps of course that the food was great as welll! All packaging WITH substance. There are 3 branches: Inside Mid Valley Megamall, Inside KLCC and in Bangsar.
1) The Beef Rendang. Meat done tenderly and yet flavourful without being chewy. 2) Extremely generous with the salted fish in the bean sprouts stir-fried with salted fish. 3) The Nasi Bojari - for finding new uses between Laksa leaves and rice! 4) The secret reciped Fried Chicken Drumstick. Succulent and tasty! For pictures of some of Madam Kwan's dishes, please see my photologue on KL's glorious food. nasi lemak by dragontml Great looking modern kopitiam setting in a comfortable restaurant. This is the kind of place that you'll probably meet friends with, come with the family once in a while or just when you have that plain craving for good nyonya chinese fusion cuisine.
Nasi Bojari is a type of indonesian coloured rice that comes with assam prawns, beef rendang and deep fried chicken drumsticks. Or give the Nasi Lemak a try ! it's rice cooked with coconut milk. Usually eaten with hard boil egg, cucumber, fried anchovies & ' sambal ' - chilli For desserts, there's the typical ice campur, cendol, bubur cha-cha or sago gula melaka to complete your nyonya melaka dinner experience. They have all sorts of Malaysian food from chinese chicken rice to indian fish head curry and malay nasi lemak. Chicken with Mushroom rice at Madam Kwans by BorneoGrrl If you would like to try local food without the sight of sweaty hawkers cooking up the yummy dishes, you can try Madam Kwans at KLCC or Midvalley Megamall. The enviroment is that of an old kopitiam or coffeeshop but it's clean and comfortable. The service is fast and your order will arrive within 15 minutes. There are a variety of local dishes on the menu from chicken rice to asam laksa noodles. Unfortunately, prices are not like the hawker's but you get a good selection of near authentic cooking in a nice enviroment. While the service is fast & friendly, I can't help feeling that the staff are rushing the patrons to eat and go. What do you expect? This place is always full especially during lunchtime and people queueing outside are hoping that you do eat & go :)

by y_lyn Madam Kwan's is a very popular restaruant at KLCC. You will know by just looking at the queue outside the restaurant during lunch hour. Compared to the other restaurants at the same level, this is definitely more well-known.
I ordered Nasi Bojari for both my visits to Madam Kwan's. This dish is like Nasi Bryani, with coloured rice. At Madam Kwan's, Nasi Bojari is the coloured rice with a big chicken drumstick, redangs and sambal prawns. The serving is very big and I cannot finish the plate on the 2 occasions. The price is more expensive than outside ~ RM19.90. Other popular dishes here will be Nasi Lemak and Curry Fish Head.
