Madam Kwan's serves mainly traditional Chinese food. The service was prompt. For those Muslim travellers, this restaurant is halal (just look out for the halal sign/logo outside the restuarant). Although Malaysia is an Islamic country, not necessarily everything is halal.
Favorite Dish: I had the seafood soup vermicilli. Enjoyed it!

I always bring my overseas guests to this restaurant and so far have gotten rave reviews.
Favorite Dish: My all time favourite is the mushroom chicken rice and the assam prawns. If you are adventurous, try the sambal petai ( u may need a strong mint after ). You can order dishes ( e.g. fish head curry, stir fried kailan vegetable, chicken rendang curry ) or individual dishes ( kuay teow soup noodles, fried mee mamak ).

Madam Kwan's is a very popular restaruant at KLCC. You will know by just looking at the queue outside the restaurant during lunch hour. Compared to the other restaurants at the same level, this is definitely more well-known.
Favorite Dish: I ordered Nasi Bojari for both my visits to Madam Kwan's. This dish is like Nasi Bryani, with coloured rice. At Madam Kwan's, Nasi Bojari is the coloured rice with a big chicken drumstick, redangs and sambal prawns. The serving is very big and I cannot finish the plate on the 2 occasions. The price is more expensive than outside ~ RM19.90. Other popular dishes here will be Nasi Lemak and Curry Fish Head.

My favourite branch: Bangsar Telawi. I like this place. It's small, not too crowded if you go dduring the right time and the food taste better here than the one in KLCC. The service is also much better here. It's located in a row of not so many restaurants so it's a little more comfortable.
Favorite Dish: Nasi Lemak, Char Kuay Teow.

Madam Kwan's has 3 branches in Mid Valley Megamall, KLCC and in Bangsar.
If you are looking for a nice place to try out Malaysian local dishes, Madam Kwan is the perfect place although the prices are a bit pricey. They have all sorts of Malaysian food from their famous nasi lemak to Chinese style chicken rice to Indian style fish head curry and local desserts.

Came highly recommended for offering true Malaysian cuisines. It seems Madam Kwan is quite a celebrity on the local celebrity cook scene judging by the number of newspaper and magazines clippings.
I was at the branch in Mid Valley Megamall. The restaurant has an upmarket look but without trying to be too pretentious, walking a fine line between Asian and Western style decor. The waitresses and waiters are all smartly dressed and guests are served with glasses of strawberry scented cold water.
The service was great and warm though the dishes were a little on the small side.
It helps of course that the food was great as welll! All packaging WITH substance.
There are 3 branches: Inside Mid Valley Megamall, Inside KLCC and in Bangsar.
Favorite Dish: 1) The Beef Rendang. Meat done tenderly and yet flavourful without being chewy.
2) Extremely generous with the salted fish in the bean sprouts stir-fried with salted fish.
3) The Nasi Bojari - for finding new uses between Laksa leaves and rice!
4) The secret reciped Fried Chicken Drumstick. Succulent and tasty!

The restaurant is known for its nasi lemak and curry fish head... other notable dishes include steam chicken... and other local noodle specialities as well...
Favorite Dish: The speciality of the restaurant is the nasi lemak and curry fish head... both the lemak and assam preparation are good... but personally, i prefer the lemak version...

If you would like to try local food without the sight of sweaty hawkers cooking up the yummy dishes, you can try Madam Kwans at KLCC or Midvalley Megamall. The enviroment is that of an old kopitiam or coffeeshop but it's clean and comfortable. The service is fast and your order will arrive within 15 minutes. There are a variety of local dishes on the menu from chicken rice to asam laksa noodles. Unfortunately, prices are not like the hawker's but you get a good selection of near authentic cooking in a nice enviroment.
While the service is fast & friendly, I can't help feeling that the staff are rushing the patrons to eat and go. What do you expect? This place is always full especially during lunchtime and people queueing outside are hoping that you do eat & go :)
Favorite Dish: Try the chicken rice, nasi lemak and ice tea

Well I've been told so much about Madam Kwan's in KLCC, so I just had to go there..
They recommended me Beef Penang coz it was a typical Penang dish and superb..
So I tried it YIKES! I will never have that dish again! If that was a penang specialty well... then I'm not sure if I'll visit Penang...
However my friend had something else that tasted better, it was actually OK..
Favorite Dish: Non
